Lenten Sermon Series
Lenten STudy options
In winter of 2020 we launched our first Younique group. It was only a couple of weeks in when we stopped in person gatherings. Cliff Whitmore has been trained in these materials and brought to our attention this resource.
As we look forward, Younique is a resource to help people discover their passions and calling. People can then operate from this in their giving/volunteering in the church and community and life focus. It really helps the individual and the church in bringing and using our best God given self.
It is designed to give individuals and churches an accessible way to engage Gospel-Centered Life Design. The 6-Week Primer leads people through an exploration of the life of David to help people discover the value and importance of knowing one's life calling.
How does your personal life call-which is both knowable and nameable-intersect with your personal discipleship?
Starting Sunday, March 7th, Cliff Whitmore will lead this group on Sunday afternoons 5-6:30 pm in the Disciple Center.
The cost to participants is $12.
Devotional Life in the Wesleyan Tradition
"God does not call you to have a devotional time;
God calls you to live a devotional life."
Earl Freeman, Teacher
In this 6-week course, we will learn how to use Wesley's "Means of Grace" to form a devotional life.
Through daily readings in a workbook called "Devotional Life in the Wesleyan Tradition," by Steve Harper, weekly meetings (Zoom or in-person), and group interaction, we will develop relationships that enhance one another's spiritual growth.
Week One: John Wesley: Man of Devotion
Week Two: Constant Company with Christ
Week Three: The All-Sufficient Word
Week Four: Food for the Journey
Week Five: Hunger for Righteousness
Week Six: Life Together; Into the World (could be broken up into 2 sessions, depending on the calendar)
Please order book via Cokesbury.
